Silicon Valley Augmented Reality Game Design Training Camp
You must have heard of the popular game Pokémon Go. The game combines virtual Pokémon with the real-life environments, where Augmented Reality (AR) plays a vital role. AR technology combines a virtual world with tangible reality through high-quality interaction. As one of the most popular technologies utilized contemporaneously, AR is applied across countless fields: for example, it can help to position tools precisely in surgery as well as help identify locations to obtain military data.
The program will teach students ‘computational thinking’ and ‘design thinking’ methods. Through the program, students will explore the fundamental programming knowledge that is presently used in Silicon Valley technology companies, additionally acquiring advanced knowledge in the contemporary science and technology industry. Students in the course will have the opportunity to write their own programs and develop personal Augmented Reality (AR) products. Through the construction of 3D scenes and application of AR technics, students will be directly exposed to cutting-edge, new technologies. Additionally, this program will assist students in enhancing their interests in new high-technology and its practical applications.
With GEC Academy, students will design their own AR game, learning skills such as programming, 3-D modeling and game design in a highly interactive and editing process. Students will also learn the fundamentals of game design, which will be integrated into the virtual worlds to contain complex models, props and structures. By participating in this course, students can cultivate their logical thinking, design thinking, and innovative thinking capabilities. After learning about programming for special effects and image recognition, each student will receive a copy of their game, along with the original designs they created during the course so that you can continue to design and refine long after the course is finished. Students will gain invaluable experiences from this program as through their participation in famous science and technology competitions, including the Caltech Programming Contest and the China Adolescents Science and Technology Innovation Contest. The course outcome will enhance the academic and professional backgrounds of students to assist in their eventual applications to high-ranking universities.
